A team of researchers in India has created what is to be known as the world’s first ever smartphone for the visually impaired people. This masterpiece innovation converts all the texts into the Braille pattern. It will enable and help blind people to read their texts and E-mails on their phone.

According to the inventor, the product is capable of elevating and depressing the content it receives to transform them into touchable pattern. The product comes more as a companion more that a phone to the user.

The technology was based on the concept that metals should retain its original shape after its expansion and contraction. The grid has Braille display making the phone’s screen with grids pins which represent a character or letter. So when the user receives an incoming text, the little pins elevate or depress and get auto translated in Braille, thereby enabling the visually impaired people to understand the text message.

What is still not clear is the operating system on which the phone will run on. Though this smartphone is expected to be available much later part of this year, but all credits goes to Sumit Dugar, the inventor of this smart device.
