How to transfer contacts from Nokia to Blackberry

Method one: Copy your contacts to your Sim card from your Nokia, then from the Sim card to the Blackberry. This method loses formats of contacts like pictures, it also doesn’t work if you have more than one number under one name, and it doesn’t work if you have a lot of contacts. I have over 1300 contacts, and my old sim card can save only 100.

Method two: Synchronize your Nokia with Outlook, then synchronize your Outlook with your BB. This method is actually the best, when I did it, I lost some numbers, but it’s still the best available method. Basically you lose numbers if you have for example 2 numbers saved for Nancy, and each are saved under the field (Mobile). Also, there are fields on Nokia like (Home2) that are not compatible with Outlook. If your contact list is simple, this method is good. The big disadvantage of this method is that not every one owns or uses outlook. I used to have Outlook in my old job, but now I don’t.

Method three: Exporting your list to ASCI file, then importing the file from your BB.
Connect your Nokia phone to Nokia PC Suite, and go to Contacts. then highlight all your contacts, then click on File, go to Export and export the list to a file saved on your desktop. Pictures below:

Then start BlackBerry Desktop Manager:

Go to Synchronize, then click on Configure and click on Reset Configuration. After that click on Synchronization:

choose Address Book, a screen like this will pop up, choose ASCII Importer, then choose the direction of Synchronization, it can be one way to the device, or both ways, to the device, and from the device to the file.

After that, browse for the file you saved on your Desktop, and click next.

This will Copy all the contacts to your Blackberry, but again, here you will face a lot of problems IF your contact list on your Nokia is complex. You will lose all the pictures, possibly some emails, fax numbers, or numbers that are saved under fields not compatible with your BB.

Method 4: I really like this method, it’s Synchronizing your Nokia contacts with Gmail, then using Google Sync again to synchronize them back to your Blackberry.

In order to do this, you will need to download Google Mobile App to both phones. Once you install the app, Google nicely explain how to execute the task on this website. This method is brilliant, but like previous methods it is not flawless. Although it transfers pictures, it can lose some numbers. I also noticed that some names were transferred without numbers!

Send Encrypted Emails Through Gmail Using a Chrome Extension

Need to send sensitive information through email? Normal email messages can be intercepted or hacked before reaching the recipient. However, you can use a free extension for Google Chrome, called SafeGmail, that allows you to send encrypted emails to anyone.

Messages are encrypted and decrypted within the browser, so your message is only seen by you and the person to whom it is sent, and the messages remain encrypted in both the sender’s and receiver’s email inboxes The messages also automatically expire after a random amount of time.

SafeGmail works with any recipient email provider.

To install the extension, visit the SafeGmail extension page using the link at the end of this article. Click the Add to Chrome button.

The Confirm New Extension dialog box displays. Click Add.

A message box displays when the extension has been successfully installed. Restart Google Chrome and reopen your Gmail page after installing the extension.

SafeGmail adds an Encrypt? check box to the Compose screen. Once you have written your email and entered one or more recipients and a subject, click the Encrypt? check box. Two edit boxes display for a Question and an Answer. Enter a question and an answer that only you and the recipient(s) will know. Then, click Send + Encrypt.

NOTE: The answer is case sensitive.

The encrypted email looks like the following image for the recipient(s). The encrypted email is included as text between dashed lines. Copy this text before clicking the Here link to access the email.

Answer the question and click Submit to access the a screen allowing you to decrypt the email.

The Mail Decryption screen displays. Paste the email content copied from the received email in the edit box and click Show My Mail.

The decrypted message displays in the browser window.

SafeGmail also allows you to enter special language characters in your email message to be encrypted.

Beginner Geek: How to Reinstall Windows on Your Computer

Reinstalling Windows is one of the easiest ways to fix software problems on your computer, whether it’s running slow or infected by viruses. You should also reinstall Windows before you get rid of an old PC.

Depending on your version of Windows and how you installed it – or whether it came with your computer – there are a number of different ways to reinstall Windows.

Before Reinstalling Windows

The process of reinstalling Windows will erase all the data on your computer. Your files, the programs you’ve installed, and the settings you’ve configured on your computer will be wiped out. (Note that, if you use the Refresh feature in Windows 8, your personal files will be kept.)

Before reinstalling Windows, you should make backup copies of all your personal data – of course, you should always have up-to-date backup copies anyway, because hard drives could fail at any time. However, when you reinstall Windows, these backup copies will be the only copies. Ensure you have up-to-date backups of all your important files before continuing.

Refreshing and Resetting on Windows 8

If you’re using Windows 8, reinstalling Windows is easier than ever. Instead of installing from a Windows disc or activating a recovery partition, you can use the Refresh your PC or Reset your PC options built into Windows. These options will quickly reinstall Windows for you, automatically saving and restoring your data and not asking any questions during installation.

Your Computer Came With Windows

if your computer came with Windows, the easiest way to get it back to its factory default state is by using its recovery partition. You can also use recovery discs – computers generally don’t come with recovery discs anymore, but you may have been asked to burn the discs when you set up your computer.

To use your computer’s recovery partition, restart your computer and press the key that appears on-screen during the start-up process. If you don’t see this key, consult your computer’s manual (or use Google) to find the necessary key for your specific model of computer.

To use recovery discs, insert the first disc into your computer’s disc drive and restart your computer. You should see the recovery environment appear. (If it doesn’t, you’ll need tochange the boot order in your computer’s BIOS so the computer boots from the disc drive.)

You should now be in the recovery environment. With a few clicks, you can instruct your computer to reset itself back to its factory default state. You’ll have to set up your computer like you did when you first acquired it, providing a username, reinstalling your programs, and configuring it.

You Installed Windows or Upgraded Your Computer’s Version of Windows

If you installed Windows yourself or installed a new version of Windows on a computer that came with an older version of Windows, you’ll have a Windows installation disc lying around. You can use that Windows installation disc to reinstall Windows. (Some geeks also like doing this on computers that come with Windows to perform a fresh installation, getting rid of the junk software preinstalled by computer manufacturers.)

First, insert the Windows installation disc into your computer’s disc drive and restart your computer. You should see the Windows installer appear. (If it doesn’t, you’ll need tochange the boot order in your computer’s BIOS so the computer boots from the CD or DVD drive.)

If your computer doesn’t include a physical disc drive, you can use the Windows 7 USB/DVD Download Tool to place the Windows installation files on a USB drive (this method works with both Windows 7 and Windows 8.)

Complete the installation process, answering all the questions and providing your Windows product key. Once you’re done, you’ll need to install the hardware drivers for your computer’s hardware and all your favorite software.

If you frequently reinstall Windows 7, or install it on many computers, you may want tocreate a customized Windows 7 installation disc.

Reinstalling Windows used to be scarier, but the days of manually loading SATA drivers and using a text-mode environment to reinstall Windows XP are behind us. Reinstalling Windows – or restoring from a factory partition – is very simple, especially with Windows 8.

Karbonn A5 {4300}I know it is not a new launch , but its the best android phone as it has a 800 MHz CPU + 512 MB ram ( most phones have only 256 mb ram)

Also this phone has a few developers working on it as well .

-3G

Nokia Asha 305 {4600}

Nothing special in this phone , except the fact that Nokia is a very reputed brand in the budget segment .

Go for it if you would consider buying from a company for a good reputation & good after sales service .

Samsung Metro Duos {3100}

A good feature phone for those who would love to have a good , hassle free feature phone

Also , U have the option of Nokia Asha 200 qwerty phone for texting lovers.

You have some good options here , with Windows Phone , Nokia's Symbian , & Android present in the fray:
